Full Time Building Maintenance & Custodian
Under the supervision of the Director of Public Works and the Division Manager for Buildings and Grounds, this position must have knowledge of building maintenance and cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment. Applicants for this position must possess a High School Diploma or the equivalent and a valid New Jersey driver’s license. The Full Time Building Maintenance & Custodian will work Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. Annual salary range for this position is $50,662.22 - $63,654.00, commensurate with experience. This position is a union position with health and paid time off provided in accordance with the AFSCME union contract. The successful candidate must pass a background check, pre-employment physical and a drug test.

Job Description
Job Title: Substitute School Crossing Guard
The Borough of Eatontown is currently accepting applications for the position of Substitute School Crossing Guard. You can be an important member of a successful team of individuals committed to the safety of schoolchildren in your community. Substitute School Crossing Guards fill in on an as-needed basis, Monday through Friday, during the regular school year at designated locations in the borough assisting elementary, middle and high school students.
Job Description:
Crossing guards assist children in crossing the street on their way to and from school. Crossing guards provide safe crossings of the roadways and model appropriate street skills and behavior for children. They do this by:
Choosing good times to step into the street to create gaps in traffic
Standing in the roadway with STOP paddle continuously raised to shoulder height to show that pedestrians are using the crosswalk.
Verbally directing children across the street
Recognizing and communicating potentially dangerous traffic situations and hazards in the environment
Fulfilling job requirements outdoors in all weather, including rain, fog, snow, sleet, cold, heat, humidity, and wind.
Crossing guards must be able to:
Stand unassisted for one hour.
Walk unassisted across the street multiple times while on post.
Raise both feet to step over a curb.
Education, Training and Experience
Required:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent or any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be a U.S. citizen and a New Jersey resident.
Must successfully pass a thorough criminal history and background check.
Valid Driver’s License may be required.
Starting Salary: $15.00/hour
