Investigations Division

Investigations Division

The Investigations, or Detective Division is under the command of Detective-Lieutenant Edward Nelson, and is comprised of 1 detective sergeant, 3 detectives and 1 patrolman-investigator. One detective is primarily assigned to the Juvenile Bureau. The officers assigned work towards the Police Department’s mission of making the Borough of Eatontown a safe place to live, work, or visit. Through the efforts of the personnel assigned to this unit, we have attacked issues the members of our community have shared with us as being detrimental to the quality of life in Eatontown.

While it is difficult to truly reflect in words the energy that our employees put into their assignments, their accomplishments tend to speak for themselves.

The Detective Bureau is staffed 6 days a week, normally from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. An “on-call” detective can be activated into service during the midnight hours as the need arises. Members of the detective bureau have investigated criminal activity ranging from homicides down to petty thefts. The most common crimes include robbery, burglary, theft, auto thefts, assaults, and credit card frauds.
