BOROUGH OF EATONTOWN NOTICE OF BOROUGH COUNCIL.  PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on August 10, 2016, the Eatontown Borough Council, County of Monmouth, State of New Jersey, introduced Ordinance 10-2016 Amending and Supplementing Section 89-4 Entitled “Definitions and Word Usages”, Section 89-31 entitled “Zoning Map” and Section 89 Attachment 9 to Rezone Certain Lots to the Established Mixed Use Regional Center Zone.  The purpose of this ordinance is to update the Borough’s land use ordinances to ensure the continuing viability and success of the Monmouth Mall property and the surrounding commercial properties in and around the Route 35 and Route 36 interchange by repurposing the Monmouth Mall property to a multi-purpose mixed use development incorporating commercial, residential and recreational uses.  The ordinance creates the Mixed-Use Regional Center Zone and expands the permitted uses in the zone to include among other additional permitted uses, a residential component with an affordable housing requirement, expanded recreational uses and a multi-purpose plaza.  The ordinance also creates new bulk and area regulations, parking and loading design standards and requires the phasing of residential units to new repurposed commercial development.  Notice is hereby given that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading by the Borough Council on August 10, 2016 and will be considered for final passage and adoption at the Municipal Building, 47 Broad Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724 on September 14, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be reached on the agenda at which time and place all persons interested will be given an opportunity to be heard, and during the week prior and up to and including the date of such meeting, copies of said ordinance will be made available at the Clerk’s Office of the Eatontown Town Hall, to members of the general public who shall request the same or on the Eatontown website: under pending ordinances.
