Code Red Message from EPD and EOEM.

THIS IS A WEATHER RELATED BROADCAST FOR ALL EATONTOWN RESIDENTS FROM THE EATONTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT AND OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT.

IT APPEARS AS IF HURRICANE JOAQUIN HAS TAKEN AN EASTERLY COURSE THAT WILL TAKE IT OUT TO SEA.  AS A RESULT, OUR AREA WILL BE SPARED ANY MAJOR IMPACT FROM THE STORM.

COASTAL AREAS MAY HAVE FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION CAUSED BY THE CURRENT STORM AS WELL AS THE HURRICANE.

WE ARE HOWEVER EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO GET HEAVY RAIN AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 30 MILES PER HOUR FROM THE CURRENT STORM THAT WILL CONTINUE ON AND OFF THROUGH SUNDAY.

EATONTOWN WILL EXPERIENCE LOCALIZED FLOODING AND AS A RESULT, SEVERAL ROADWAYS MIGHT BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC.

PLEASE OBEY ALL CLOSED ROADWAY BARRICADES AS CARS DRIVING ON THOSE STREETS COULD BECOME SUBMERGED.

IF YOU SEE ANY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS SUCH AS FLOODING, POWER LINES DOWN, OR FALLEN TREES, PLEASE REPORT THEM TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IMMEDIATELY.

SHOULD STORM CONDITIONS CHANGE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, UPDATED INFORMATION WILL BE BROADCAST TO THE BOROUGH VIA THE REVERSE 911 SYSTEM AND ALSO ON OUR BOROUGH AND POLICE WEBSITES.

ALL EATONTOWN EMERGENCY SERVICES ARE FULLY PREPARED SHOULD THEY BE NEEDED FOR ANY WEATHER RELATED EVENT.
