Rent Leveling Board Members Needed

The Borough of Eatontown is seeking volunteers to serve on its Rent Leveling Board. Members are appointed by the governing body and serve one year terms. The Board is currently lacking sufficient members to convene and act upon matters that may require its attention. The primary duties of the Rent Leveling Board are to:
-supply information and assistance to landlords and tenants
-hold hearings and adjudicate applications from landlords for additional rent and surcharges
-hear and adjudicate applications and complaints from tenants for reduced or improper rentals.
Currently, the Rent Leveling Board only has two members, one serving in an at large capacity and the other as a landlord representative of a mobile home park. The Borough is seeking to fill the vacant positions of:
-tenant in an Eatontown apartment complex
-tenant in a mobile home park
-one at large member
-The Board can also have alternate members who are designated as citizens at large.
Anyone interested in serving on the Eatontown Rent Leveling Board can apply by submitting a Citizen Leadership Form to the office of the Borough Clerk.
